JAMES
THE
BIRD
LIGHT
RAIN
ON
THE
GREY
SEA
Grauer Wolkenvorhang.
Der Regen prasselt freundlich
auf eine leise Schwimmerin.
Curtain of grey clouds.
The rain falls gently
on a quiet swimmer.
WINTER
BLOSSOM
Die Fenster dieser Stadt
sind wie schwarze Augen
der Vergangenheit.
The windows of this city
are like black eyes
of the past.
AUTUMN
IMPRESSION
Es ist Mitternacht.
Die Sonne scheint.
Im Glas treibt Eis.
It is midnight.
The sun shines.
In the glass, ice floats.
KOALA
IN
THE
MIST
Der Bambus zittert,
Regen geht auf ihn nieder.
Die Nacht ist leise und nass.
Ein Auto hält: niemand steigt aus.
The bamboo shivers,
rain falls on it.
The night is quiet and wet.
A car stops: no one gets out.
HAZE
AT
PUNAKAIKI
Die Steine sind warm.
Der Abend leuchtet blau.
Laute Sommernacht.
The stones are warm.
The evening glows blue.
Loud summer night.
SPLASH
Im blassen Schein der warmen Nacht
wiegen sich die hohen Gräser.
Ein Pfad führt durch die Wiese;
in der Ferne tönt ein Ruf.
In the pale glow of the warm night
the tall grass sways.
A path leads through the field;
a call sounds in the distance.
NORDIC
NEPTUNE
Das Meer braust,
Regen löchert den Sand.
Die Hotelwände sind kalt.
Die Dolomiten werden von
tiefen Wolken gestreift.
The sea roars,
rain pierces the sand.
The hotel walls are cold.
The Dolomites are brushed by
deep clouds.
POWER
OF
FLOWER
Der Regen ist leicht.
Er berührt den Boden nicht.
Die Luft ist warm.
Auf dem Kiesplatz liegen
Blätter und welke Blüten.
The rain is light.
It doesn’t touch the ground.
The air is warm.
On the gravel lie
leaves and wilted flowers.
ETERNAL
GRANITE
Ein weisser Schimmer
liegt auf dem kalten Wasser.
In der Luft liegt Eis.
Silhouetten im Dunkeln:
still gleiten Schwäne vorbei.
A white shimmer
lies on the cold water.
Ice lies in the air.
Silhouettes in the dark:
swans glide silently by.
NIGHT
AT
THE
DRYCLEANER
Gesichter spiegeln sich
in den Scheiben der Vorstadtzüge.
Blicke treffen sich im Neon.
Faces are reflected
in the windows of the suburban trains.
Glances meet in the neon.
UP
AND
DOWN
Im leeren Fenster
weht der Wind durch die Eschen.
Der Himmel wirkt gelb.
In the empty window
the wind blows through the ashes.
The sky looks yellow.
F**K
IT
Kalter Abschied vom Tribunal.
Es ist Sonntag Mittag.
Die Sonne scheint auf
Beton und nackte Alleen.
Cold farewell from the tribunal.
It is Sunday noon.
The sun shines on
concrete and bare avenues.
